Cinderella Curtains at The London Palladium

60,000 crystals embellished by the Crystal Parade team in just 6 weeks!

60,000+ Preciosa Crystals

What a privilege for the team at Crystal Parade to be commissioned to crystallise the house drape for the pantomime production of Cinderella at the London Palladium in 2016. The stage decor for Cinderella featured two hot pink velvet drapes each measuring 16 metres wide and 8 metres long. Our team of six crystallised the fabric in a bespoke pattern of star bursts and galaxies, which featured across the whole of the curtain. In total, the team at Crystal Parade embellished the drape with over 60,000 Preciosa crystals. Each crystal was applied individually by hand, taking over 400 hours in total. Many of the costumes and props were also decorated with Swarovski and Preciosa crystals, supplied by Crystal Parade. We also provided plumes, feather boas, fabric, resin gems and bright acrylic shapes for other areas of the production.

Clients

Sam Ryder x Queen's Jubilee

What a fantastic Jubilee bank holiday weekend we celebrated in June and we're so proud to say that Crystal Parade played a small part in dazzling the crowd outside Buckingham Palace. In collaboration with Luke Jefferson Day, top fashion stylist and editor of GQ Style, we supplied the Zodiac crystals used to embellish the stunning Union Jack outfit worn by Sam Ryder on the Saturday night. Thousands of Zodiac crystals in many shades of blue including Aquamarine AB, Montana, Capri Blue, Peacock Blue and Sapphire adorned Sam’s outfit, along with Light and Dark Siam to create the flag, and Clear and Mine Silver rhinestones to fully crystallize the collar and cuffs. Luke chose to apply crystals of varying sizes to achieve what is known in the industry as the ‘Rockery Effect’. This allows the light to hit the stones at multiple angles which is then reflected in every direction to create more sparkle on stage.

Kinky Boots

One of the world’s best loved musicals, winner of six Broadway Tony awards and winner of the Oliver award in 2016 for ‘Best Musical’, Kinky Boots made its UK premiere back in 2015 at the Adelphi Theatre. We were asked by the West End production to supply all the crystals and embellishments needed for the costumes, including Lola’s iconic Broadway costume. Throughout July and August of that year we worked closely with the production team and wardrobe mistress, supplying hotfix crystals and sew on stones for each costume, as well as sourcing bespoke crystal embellishments to bring some serious sparkle to the stage!

Spice Girls UK Tour

One of the highlights of the last few years for Crystal Parade was being called up by the costume designer for the official Spice Girls UK Tour in 2019. They were in urgent need of Swarovski crystals for the girls’ costumes and shoes and had been let down by a previous supplier. Poppy and the team at Crystal Parade were on hand to deliver the sparkly goods the very next day, so the show could go on! What an honour for us to be a small but important part of the show, for such an iconic girl group

Downton Abbey

To be asked to supply crystal embellishments for the hit ITV show ‘Downton Abbey’ was a huge thrill for the team at Crystal Parade. We collaborated with the costume designers to share our wealth of experience in how to use crystals most effectively in costume, as well as share our knowledge of crystal colours, shapes and application. We supplied Preciosa flatback crystals in Turquoise and Coral, creating a vintage feel to suit the show’s theme. We can supply crystals, fabrics, trimmings and other embellishments for television shows of any genre – past shows we have worked on include The Crown, Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Emmerdale and The Jump just to name a few.

Merlin Entertainment

In 2012 Madame Tussauds unveiled the current wax figure of HRH Queen Elizabeth II in honour of her Diamond Jubilee. As a recently new business, Crystal Parade were honoured to supply the Swarovski crystals and pearls used to decorate the gown and tiara sported by Her Royal Majesty. We offered our advice and expertise to the team who designed the outfit and supplied the thousands of Swarovski Hotfix crystals and pearls needed to finish the look. The wax figure still stands there today in all its sparkly glory, and we couldn’t be more proud of the involvement Crystal Parade had in the final piece.
